Todd McDermott is joining WPBF as Tiffany Kenney’s new co-anchor partner. He is replacing Victor Blackwell who left WPBF for a weekend anchoring job at CNN in Atlanta.
Right now, Todd McDermott is the morning anchor at WPXI in Pittsburgh and has also anchored and reported at WCBS and WUSA in DC. According to WPBF’s press release he was also a national correspondent and host of the ‘CBS Early Show’.
His first day on the air at WPBF will be October 22.
I remember watching CBS Early Show (now CBS This Morning) about 10 years ago, and seeing him as a fill-in news anchor, as well as seeing him filing stories in his role as national correspondent… and he clicked for me, because I liked what I saw. I wish him well on getting the evening news co-anchor gig at WPBF-25.
On another subject… I’ve taken notice of other Hearst stations getting new stations group graphics… and new stations group music. WESH Orlando was first to get it back in July… WBAL Baltimore, WTAE Pittsburgh, KCRA Sacramento, and several others getting them. Hoping that WPBF-25, WCVB Boston, and other Hearst stations will be getting those new graphics and music in the coming weeks and months.
I kinda see WPBF getting the new gfx and music, but Not WCVB.
I used to watch Todd in N.Y. on CBS. He does a great job. He will definately be an asset at WPBF. I look forward to welcoming him back into my home at 5pm.
Todd used to work at KSNW in Wichita, KS anchoring the NBC affiliate’s state wide network news, along with his ex wife.
I miss Todd on Channel 11 Morning News in Pittsburgh, PA! It’s just not the same without him.
Loved his reporting and sense of humor and, oh yeah, he’s quite the sight for sore eyes!
I wish him the best!
