Here they are, someone capped this off the SD feed and yes the graphics really do get cut off at the corners if you’re on an ancient 4:3 format TV

Everything is a major improvement. Love the new set, and good riddance, the caramel graphics are gone. (I assume Scripps is planning to get rid of them company-wide, as the McGraw-Hill stations they recently acquired did not immediately adapt them.) Actually, they remind me of cable news channels because A) they fill the entire 16×9 frame, similar to FNC and CNN, and B) the lower thirds are now more constant than ever, often staying on-screen for the duration of the story. Now just need to identify the music package…
FYI, WPTV’s standard definition signal now letterboxes the full 16:9 image for locally-broadcast programming, at least on DIRECTV. They started doing this just days before adopting the new look. One must wonder whether NBC is going to go the way of Fox and letterbox its primetime programming on the standard-def feed.
I always forget Michael Williams was in WPB. He was one of the best reporters/anchors at WTVJ. Hard to imagine WTVJ went from Michael Williams (who they asked to leave, I believe) to Demarco Morgan to Kevin Corke and now to Adam Kuperstein. Kuperstein is the best of the last three, but none can top Williams’ skills in journalism.
Well williams didnt do WTVJ justice in ratings….that’s why he’s not there anymore. But he has been a good fit for WPTV. I believe he got his start at WTVX when that station was in Ft Pierce and had a News Dept.
Michael Williams is boring and awkward when he anchors with Kelley Dunn & Shannon Cake. And it’s not the ladies’ faults. He’s a great journalist however.

Great journalism doesn’t always yield high ratings unfortunately.
Nice new set, same old Michael Williams. He may be a great journalist but has a very dry, dull, boring delivery.
