The SunSentinel has an interesting write up on Miami stations going after the growing morning audience by adding more newscast in the mornings. According to the story WSVN’s morning audience is up 35% to 69,000 total viewers and WPLG is up 20 percent to 48,000 viewers.
Is turning the morning news on part of your morning routine? I usually grab my phone to check email and other things, on most days TV doesn’t come on until late at night even while working
Love watching the TODAY show before school/work. National news in the AM, local in the PM.’
That’s just me.
Me, I’ll admit, when I do watch TV, I watch only two shows:
1.) Today in Florida
2.) SportsCenter
With local TV news in Miami… WPLG (Local 10) was first to add 4:30AM half-hour to its morning news. I’m not sure if WSVN (Channel 7), WTVJ (NBC 6), and WFOR (CBS 4) have added 4:30AM half-hour as of yet. WSVN added 9AM hour, after dropping “Live with Kelly” (formerly “Live with Regis & Kelly”, which moved to WPLG last August.
WSVN has had an hour of news at 4 PM for some time now.
Oops, sorry, misread 430 AM for PM 🙂
