The Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks game had 10.9 million viewers but locally WPLG seems to have gotten a huge ratings boost too. Sun Sentinel TV critic Tom Jicha says locally WPLG had about 900,000 viewers! The largest audience the station has had other than for a Super Bowl broadcast.
The Miami-Ft Lauderdale market has around 1.5 million households according to Nielsen
