Michael Williams Leaves WFOR for WPTV

Michael Williams Photo: CBSMiami.comPage2Live reporting Michael Williams is leaving WFOR at the end of February to join Palm Beach NBC affiliate WPTV. He’s allegedly slated to replace long-time anchor Jim Sackett who is expected to retire when his contract expires this year.

Michael Williams joined WFOR in very early 2008 as a political and special investigations reporter. Williams left WTVJ in January 2007 when NBC6 moved to single anchor format at 11pm.

  1. Congratulations, Micheal. A loss for Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. It’s a nice homecoming for him since he worked in the West Palm market 3 decades ago.

  2. Williams is one of the few class acts left in local Miami tv news.
    It says something about WFOR when a person of his caliber leaves.
    Williams is going to make WPTV even stronger than it already is.
    A huge loss for WFOR.
