SkyNews, owned by Newscorp and sister station to FOXNews, is re-launching with a new look and a new studio on October 24th. A new logo, graphics package, broadcast in 16:9 format, an all new tapless system based on Quantel are part of the re-launch. According to their press release this will be the most extensive change in the16 year history of the channel. SkyNews will also make changes to their programming format by adding dedicated programs targeted at specific audiences throughout the day as opposed to a straight news format they have right now.
Another interesting tidbit is that James Rubin, former spokesman for Bill Clinton and husband of CNN’s famous international correspondent Christian Amanpour, will host an evenning international show called “World News Tonight with James Rubin“, no relation to ABC’s network newscast
