Thanks to an alert reader who tipped me that the Philadelphia Daily has a snippet saying CBS4 News morning anchor Susan Barnett may be making a move back home to Philly and co-anchor the morning newscast at Philly CBS affiliate station KYW. One of KYW’s morning anchors has left recently to teach and apparently Barnett is being considered as a replacement.
Susan Barnett joined CBS4 in 2003, before that she worked at KDKA the CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. WFOR, KDKA and KYW are all CBS O&Os (Owned and Operated Stations)

Update: Two insiders confirm it’s a done deal. Barnett is leaving WFOR at the end of November sweeps. Former WFOR VP/GM Michael Colleran had a lot to do with her move, he is now the General Manager at KYW.

Angela Rae? She fills in often and does the 7-9 UPN show so she is there anyway. Dunno if they would have to get someone else to do her segments on the UPN show if she would anchor full-time.

I think she’s good. Maybe Ty Kennedy will be utilized more. But that would make it two African americans. I dont think they will do that. Samething would apply if they were to promote Angela Rae. I think they are probably going for the two women anchor thing though. I peek at morning news when I have a chance. I usually watch Diana and Christine but would glance at UPN. Susan is good. I am sure she will be more missed by others.
It won’t be Ty… he doesn’t work for Metro anymore. Therefore, he doesn’t work for Channel 4 anymore either.
It’s not gonna be Angela, either. Remember– she was morning anchor before Danielle and Susan.

He left for health reasons from what I have been told.
