WPLG’s Jeff Weinser and crew are down in Key West, the live truck was near the hotel they’re staying at and a huge gust of wind and water came ashore some light fell from the hotel and hit the live truck, but they’re all okay and Jeff is reporting live on the air

4:23pm WPLG’s Jacey Birch from Key West – “When the wind picks up it can just take you with it – My photographer had to hold me down a few times down here.”

  1. glad they are okay…that is what happens when tv stations send out equipment… probability of getting hit with debris is high…. this includes the crew too… if its not safe for the public to be out in this weather then why are the reporters, photographers and live truck people out there? sometimes i wish a law enforcement officer would come and make an arrest…. i know the station(s) become a public service station when this type of situation occurs but i think the field crews are needlessly put out there….gee, i guess maybe this is why i am not in management making the big bucks…high and dry back in the newsroom where there is food and beverage….
