WPLG – Live feed at Noon, 5pm – video (Windows Media Player)
WPLG are going to have coverage from 8pm to 10pm and from 11pm to 11:35pm
So SVN and FOR are doing wall-to-wall on a storm that isn’t even going to hit Miami/Ft.Lauderdale? Is this necessary?
I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s overblown for nothing, except the Keys evacuations. Apparently WPLG have gone wall to wall as well, I thought they’d only do 11pm-12am and go to regular programing.
WTVJ seem to be the only ones who show regular programing with a scroll on the bottom.
I know we’re not losing any sleep, South Beach is full of cars, life goes on.
The Keys are still part of the DMA and the stations cover them as a public service. Plus many are not used to these storms and news coverage is always wanted. Even those used to them want news.
As a former Keys resident I can tell you that with limited repeaters and power out, the Miami TV simulcasts on Keys Radio are a source of valuable information.
