And there it is everybody, WPBF”s new logo.
It made its debut on the station’s website, but the new graphics and studio are yet to be revealed. Apparently it’s happening tonight, maybe during the news at 4pm?
Today is also the day WPBF shuffles their lineup and puts Dr Phil on at 5pm.
Yep, I’m watching the newly-renamed-and-expanded “WPBF 25 News at 4pm.” Really, the logo is the only disappointment. I thought it would have a bit more to it, especially after watching the 1990 YouTube video posted here. Looks like someone rushed the design and slapped an ABC logo on it to top it off.
But I like the new graphics and set design. Those who listen carefully will also note that the H-A music has been (slightly) updated.
I don’t have an HDTV set, and although I have a DTV converter box on one of my TVs it’s too far away from both ABC stations’ signals. So I don’t know whether this upgrade will finally bring HD newscasts to WPBF. I assume it will, and it’s about time, since .
If that’s the case, I can then say that the West Palm Beach market has entirely converted to high-def! Survey, anyone? (of course, that’s probably the topic of a separate blog post, but it’s an idea.)
IDK but i love how ABC Tampa plays w/ its logo and intros, even though its not o&o by ABC, here in south Florida; we don’t have great tv intros except for SVN 7 and LTV 23.
