Can you spot what’s off with this tweet from NBCMiami?
Verizon Fios is available to Florida residents … at limited locations in Tampa. Granted the story does mention other cable companies at the end, but this tweet looked a bit odd and not so local to me when it popped up on my screen a last night. I did some googling and found out the author of the story is at WVIT WCAU, the NBC-owned affiliate in Philadelphia where Fios is available.
And there is a lot more sharing going on too.
Right now, (9.40pm Pacific time) of the four major stories on the front page, two are on NBCMiami and NBCNewYork written by the same person, and using the same preview pictures and headlines: one about Michelle Obama and the other about the prez having a beer with someone. In the left column under celebs category both sites have the same headlines and stories as well.
Same with the video section, both NBCMiami and NBCNewYork have that supermodel shopping video as featured. The four most recent videos are also the same.
It appears that Local Beat and Sports areĀ generated locally, though at times some sports stories come in from other stations.
Actually, WCAU is Philadelphia & WVIT is Hartford/New Haven.
All the content is pretty much centralized. WCAU is the station that NBC thought important enough to bitchslap their Miami station with channel # switches. Needless to say, that stations ratings compare to WTVJs here.
I hate this website.
(NBC Miami, not SFLTV lol)
