Former WSVNer Laid Off From CNN

CNN is on a firing binge the last couple of weeks. Several experienced journos have been let go including a former WSVNer.

Linda Stouffer, who was known by her real name Cinnamon Stouffer, was a reporter and a weekend anchor at WSVN from 1994 to 1996. She left 7 and joined CNN in 1997 where she anchored “Ahead of the Curve” and CNN Headline News with Chuck

CNN is becoming even a bigger joke than they already were.

  1. “Linda” had long ago be relegated to mostly pretaped segments, first on the late, unlamented CNN/fn, currnetly mostly on weekends. She was taken off the live desk due to her constant complaining about the long hours and begging for more bathroom breaks. (Couldn’t just ease up on the coffee, I guess.) Don’t expect a return of Cinnamon’s buns to this market.

  2. well according to Roberts’ bio
she anchors weekdays with him, live
i’ve seen her a few times flipping trough the channels
    definitely not pre-taped

    • You’re in a bit of a time warp there– Linda was moved to weekends over a year ago, Chuck anchors solo weekdays alternating hours with Christi Paul. They did away with the dual-anchor thing.

Overall, HLN is becoming a shell of what it used to be– they’re crammed full of cheap-to-produce shows now, like “News to Me” (hey, YOU shoot the video, and we’ll slap it together!)

They’re letting some really talented people go in favor of child-labor rate newbies. Think they did Linda a favor in a way. If she plays the cards right, she can easily land another national gig.

  3. Another very good former 7 anchor, Rick Chambers, just left a station in LA. Put him and Linda together and they beat every team we have in this town. Betcha…

  4. That’s sad. I loved watching her on the weekend! Linda is way better than Laurie Jemnings. I hope she gets hired by MSNBC or a local station on the West Coast.

  5. I don’t agree that Linda is better than Laurie Jennings. Laurie has excelled at network and is now doing tremendous locally at PLG. I do feel Linda is a nice back up main anchor and should be hired at 10. Who else do they have? Kristie has seen her day.. Jen and Jacey shouldnt even be on the desk. Lets be honest they are amateurs.

  6. She’s a tall, pretty blond; she’s headed for LA. I doubt she’ll be coming to Miami after making the kind of scratch she made at CNN.

Is her middle name “buns?” LOL! How cool would that be?

  7. I agree that Jacey still needs some work but Jen has come very far…I predict big things coming for her…..Kristie is doing great in the morning which is where she wanted to be……
