WPLG’s investigative reporter and problem solver (I thought they dropped that moniker?) Jeff Weinsier is now a blogger too.
Local10.com’s latest blog, named Dirty Dining after their on-air feature, will be focusing on Miami Dade and Broward restaurants with cleanliness problems. Judging by the first blog post it will feature lots of inspection files from the counties. Makes you want to stay home and learn how to cook.

Why doesn’t Jeff do a dirty dining at Channel 10’s OWN facilities before running around restaurants… Maybe Jeff should go work for the Health Department since he is so damn concerned about ratings opps I mean clean restaurants … But I would like to know from Jeff how many restaurants has he owned or managed since he is such an expert on the subject….. Any asshole can run around with a camera and find shit wrong with any business… including Channel 10… I wonder how many health laws are violated in their own kitchen or ‘ office eating area’s ‘ …. This chicken shit is such a pussy boy he needs to carry a gun because he is a gutless douche-bag.
i know pohovey. if it did bring in the numbers, it would be dropped. by the way, i don’t think PLG has kitchen.
and if anyone actually believes that Jeff writes that blog …well, I have some swamp land you might be interested in!
Does it really bother anybody he’s telling us a restaurant is dirty? Heck he only highlights a couple out of hundreds. It so they clean up not to ruin buisnesses.
All I can say, WFTS in Tampa has a Dirty Dining segment which shows the actual restaurants with the rats/roaches/other vermin running around and customers eating there. FTS is the Tampa version of SVN. (only worse) If they want a lot of places to check easily, start with the Asian restaurants with a hot bar for supper. They are rarely at the correct temps (accord. to FL).
After people see the vermin, it will either send SVN to copy, or viewers to change the channel to go hurl.
Keep up the good work Jeff!
weinser is probably the best reporter they have over there. i’m waiting for him to get punched in the face on one of those dining stories.
it seems some people are a little angry about Jeff exposing dirty restaurants. Is it that you guys run filthy restaurants or you just enjoy eating at them? The last time I checked, filthy is filthy and inspections are failed for specific reasons. What is wrong with you people???
This is good, I am tired of ditry restaurants and nothing is done about it.
When you spend your money you want to get good safe food.
They need to close the bad ones down. Many times restaurant owners know ahead of time when they are going to be inspected.
It is called “payoff”

If you saw some of the cooks, you would get sick.
does he target asian, hispanic and “minority” (in south florida its not correct to call asian, hispanic, and black people the minority because they actually outnumber non hispanic caucasians and south florida is a minority-majority area in the United States) owners on purpose? racist jerk. I can see the racism written all over his face, karma is a bitch, I bet he’s addicted to internet porn and he’s probably not even from south florida, I hate all these non natives coming over here to south florida and thinking their racism will fly down here. Go back to Alabama or bumf*ck Louisiana
The Asian restaurants, especially the buffets, seem to have the most violations. The station decides which restaurants to target based on the Health Department’s inspection results. There are many other types of restaurants that have been discussed in this forum; I don’t believe channel 10 shows any favoritism. I feel they’re being fair, and doing us a public service.
After exposing a restaurant and possibly ruining their reputations and business, they don’t seem to list the clean ups and pictures of the new improved restaurant that HAS passed re=inspection. Telling the bad but not the good that is done and you ARE being biased, not necessarily racist. My absolute favorite Chinese take out place, Lotus House has done their work and clean up and is open for business and is as usual a great local Chinese takeout/delivery restaurant. Get your facts straight and follow up on exposing what’s now good about the places you’ve black balled! Shame on you!
So I guess you didn’t notice that Jeff and the channel 10 team also go out of their way to recognize restaurants that get no violations at all during their inspections. As for the restaurants that get shut down for having excessive violations, Jeff says at the end of each report that the restaurants were allowed to reopen after cleanup and reinspection. No need to show the restaurant again after reinspection unless they fail another one down the road.
Oh and by the way, WPLG DOES have a lunch room with a refrigerator and microwave. Ever inspected that area after employees leave their crumbs and spills on the floor, containers in the refrigerator that are not sealed. Go in there in the morning and turn on the light, see what scurry’s across their floors !
