Castro Resigns. CBS4.com NBC6.net CBS4.com Reports it first

10

It’s 03:29am and CBs4.com is the only local station site reporting Castro’s resignation as Cuba’s president. The time stamp on their report is 3:18am right now

Update: actually it’s NBC6.net reporting the news online first – published 03:04am as per their article date.

Not bad, someone at a forum I was reading posted a thread at 02:45am linking to a web site from Ghana. 7 has nothing online. 10 has a small link courtesy of CNN partnership.

Surprisingly there is no frenzy yet on TV, everyone has infomercials on!

Update: Insider says CBS4.com originally posted the Castro news at 02:57am, and had a TV report 93 minutes later at 4:30am.

  1. NewsNet on NBC6.net is actually live on NBC 6 today due to the Castro resignation. I also think that the NewsNet has a new intro and NewsNet bug. I may be wrong, but just letting you know.

  2. Actually, the anchor Balzac Jones out of Naples was the first to report Castro’s resignation at exactly 2:44 this morning. Balzac’s an up and coming anchor and I’m sure he’ll be in MIA in no time.

  3. I don’t care about some guy in Naples.

Naples isn’t even in the South Florida news market. Naples is in the Fort Myers market.

    Kudos to TVJ.

  4. i didnt even know the local station had web staffing overnight to post something like that…they’re all always so far behind…

  5. cbs4.com rocks! best web site for local news, and i love their noticias section! have more web stories, there funny!
