In time for February sweeps WTSP Channel 10 in Tampa will launch their newscast in HD. The station will debut a brand new studio and a graphics package similar to that of WUSA in D.C. and WIXA in Atlanta.

Hmmm. The WUSA/KSDK/WXIA gfx will be used. I wonder if they’ll become the WSVN of Tampa Bay AND use Scott Chapin for its announcer.
About time WTSP-TV makes the move to high definition.
So far, approx. 74 US television stations are now in HD with their newscasts and local programs… including FOX, CW, MyNet, and Ind. affiliates that offer newscasts produced by ABC, CBS, and NBC affilates, via local sister station and/or news outsourcing agreement.
Other than WTSP… KGW-TV, the Belo owned and operated NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregon will also be going HD this month. WBBM-TV, the CBS O&O in Chicago is expected to go HD by March or April of this year.
And where are the FTL/MIA stations admist all the HD hoopla?
Nowhere.
not a factor
unless TSP goes through a MAJOR format change, they will show a hd program of their Fluff casts. It is bad, very bad to watch. Hopefully the format will change as well – some of the personnel too.
