Tony Pipitone, who the Orlando Sentinel calls “one of the finest reporters in Orlando TV history” has been hired by WTVJ as an investigative reporter.
Pipitone is coming from Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG where he has worked since 1987, his only TV station job, he was a newspaper reporter before that. His wife, Myriam Marquez was just named executive editor of the el Nuevo Herald in October, and after eight years of commuting back and forth between South Florida and Orlando they finally have a chance to live in the same place.
“They’re going to have a serious commitment to investigative reporting, and lucky for me, they want me to be part of it,” Piptone told the Orlando Sentinel.
Look for him sometime in March.
