WFOR’s Mike Kirsch who’s been playing with local cop’s patience for the last couple of years, and most recently showed us what dicks some of them are, was pulled over this morning for making an illegal U-turn while taking his daughter to school.
Accordig to the police officer Kirsch became violent and threatened her.
The official charges he was booked on are resisting with violence, assault on police officer and disorderly conduct.

MIKE KIRSCH IS A WELL-RESPECTED TV JOURNALIST.
THIS GUY PRESENTED REMARKABLE FOOTAGE OF WHAT HAPPENED WHEN A CIVILIAN TRIES TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST A POLICE OFFICER IN SOUTH FLORIDA.
IN MY OPINION, SOME POLICE OFFICERS HAVE BEEN ON THE LOOK OUT FOR MIKE KIRSCH AFTER HE REPORTED THE “POLICE INTIMIDATION” REPORT.
FOR EXAMPLE, THE BROWARD COUNTY POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION USED ITS WEBSITE TO MAKE KIRSCH A VIRTUAL TARGET FOR COPS BY POSTING HIS PERSONAL INFORMATION.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WEDNESDAY MORNING. I WASN’T THERE. BUT I WILL WAIT FOR THE FACTS *BEFORE* JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS.

Arrest someone for an illegal u-turn? Ridiculous!!
Seems a little strange, considering he was targeted by just about every cop in South Florida. They know him because of his reports on bad cops.
How could they arrest him for such a stupid thing,especially right in front of his daughter – thats fucked up. I hope to god the judge throws the case out imediatley. And brings this officer up on false arrest charges, she deserves it.

According to the arrest report which I sw, it says he struck the officer. We don’t use dash cams, so they’re isnt any evidence of it on tape. But, the police officer apparantly did not know who he was until he said that he was a reporter with CBS4 and that he coul dhave the officer fired. That’s when the officer reported telling him to sit in his car. He allegedly used profanity and said he had the right to stand whre he wanted to. That’s when the officer says, “Sit in you car sir while I write you a citation.” He refuses again and then she advises him of his rights. That’s when he pulled away and tried to get back in his car and that is when he was placed under arrest. I only saw the 1st page of the report which isn’t the most detailed description. The full report woul dhave the be written later after the offcier’s shift basically.

Mike Kirsch’s attorney, Michael Tein, said Perez approached the reporter’s car screaming and cursing in front of his wife and 3-year-old daughter.
”Michael did what any reasonable parent would do. He got out of his car and tried to calm the officer down,” Tein said.
“Instead, the officer grossly overreacted and went to Taser Michael in front of his wife and daughter. Thank goodness back-up arrived.”
Tein said witnesses contradict the police version of events and an unreleased audio tape shows the officer cussing.

I sypathize with this reporter, in my small town, Sebring, Florida, I spoke out concerning school violence and the clumsyness of our sheriff’s department, sebring police department and education department The good ole boy system, and I had charges ochestrated on me for a $1.97 chain, I was arrested at 11:45 P.M. in front of my children,(1 of which has special needs)the law enforcement brought seven officers and a k-9 unit. please log onto my three batty’s and an escort to the school clinic. I’ve seen attempted murder charges covered up.

I work in law enforcement, and I wonder how some of these clowns pass the psychological screening. Perhaps if you dummies wuld patrol our streets instead of harassing reporters, we’d be safer. Duh. Unfortunately, that would include ticketing scofflaws who make illegal u-turns!
I guess some of the folks in blue forgot about the story Mike Kirsch did on “Shoot Don’t Shoot”. Let me refresh your memory. It was how difficult it is to be a police officer and how a split second decision is something no officer wants to be faced with. It was a pro police story that helped the Miami Dade Police Officers when played for city council. What other Reporter in South Florida has taken on a story that was so positive for the police. But how quick the department can turn when a story that can show any negative light hits the air. Give me a break. I know Mike. He has more respect for law enforcement than most people. He has seen more combat and shootings than most police in their lifetime. Armed with a camera, showing people what the truth is, it’s a shame the very people he has respect for have no idea what a great guy he is.
Right on. Kirsch has seen more gun play than most cops ever will. His negative stories on cops have been right on. Try getting Miami or Ft. Lauderdale (especially bad) to respond to the most common crimes against citizens and you will be sadly disapointed. However, as Mike proved, when someone sticks it to them they move very quickly to protect themselves. I seem to remember the police union really targeted him. I am sure the union is glad he’s gone. It’s unlikely Shamari Stone or the countless other know-nothing reporters would ever do the gutsy stories Mike did. And for any reporters who might be insulted, keep in mind dancing live in a rain coat in 20 mph winds doesn’t count as gutsy.
