Here’s the problem with psudo-journalism sites like this. You publish something with no source. You should be ashamed of yourself. You say so many things about the tv journalists in your area but you really should be looking at your own faults.

You don’t know if I did or didn’t have a source. TV stations have had bigger blunders than mine, and thousands of people depend on their information. I owned up to it and apologized, shit happens to everyone.
And what exactly have I said about tv journalists in my area here that is so bad? Point me to a post or comment that is so negative as you imply. Comments by other people, as the disclaimer says, are their opinions and not mine.
I’m a viewer, as are many who come here, I have favorite on-air talent I like to watch and others I don’t like, for whatever reasons. Doesn’t mean I think they’re bad people.
If you think I’m so mean, get on “the Google” and search the local talent and see what people who work at the stations are telling their friends about local on-air talent, which friends then go and blog it for everyone to see on the web!

It’s caveat emptor online, and if you believe absolutely everything here, you’re just being intellectually lazy. But then again, journalists used to require two sources to confirm a story. That’s why I spank 7 so much, no integrity. This website is a nice tool for venting and usually it is dead on correct. You keep on keeping on, admin, heck with the naysayers.
A general rule of Journalism is that you have two sources for a story that is coming from anonymous sources. You obviously don’t have to adhere to that as you are not purporting to be a journalist. I think people have to distinguish between Internet sites with content that has a solid factual basis that has been vetted (legit news sites) and those that don’t. The problem is that most people aren’t used to doing that…what they read they automatically assume has been checked and is correct. I guess we’ll have to change as the way we get information changes.
I essentially agree with you, cord. Watergate signaled the big major change in fact-checking. The lesson is to be skeptical about everything. Janet Cooke didn’t work for a website, so it can happen anywhere. The blame here should go to NBC, who seems to cry poormouth even when a local station is virtually a license to print money. O & O’s are like pro sports teams–the owners bitch about costs but no one wants to sell. I wonder why…
