Meteorologist Bay Scroggins has jumped ship to WFOR as of this past weekend. He was most recently at WPTV Newschannel 5 doing the forecasts for the weekend morning newscast. His first day on the air was this past Saturday AM and he will be “filling-in for a while”. He doesn’t appear to be a permanent hire though, he’s freelacing for CBS4 in place of meteorologist Jeff Berardelli who left for Palm Beach CBS affiliate WPEC.
Scroggins is also no stranger to WFOR, he worked at the station briefly as an assignment editor. He joined WPTV in May 2012 from WeatherNation on a part-time contract. In June this year he announced on his Facebook page that he’s leaving WPTV due to a need to minimize his commute since he lives in away from West Palm Beach. You can catch his forescasts weekend mornings on CBS 4 News.
Jeff was still on the air this past weekend and on Monday morning.
Great move for a struggling station. He’ll be a fine fit.
Typical.
Get your stop watch out!
Time how long he stays employed at that revolving door newsroom.
Note to Jeff.
Don’t mention Aereo!
You’ll be there even less time that you will be as it is!
Nothing like having part time employees on the air and keeping them out of the “benefits trough”!
Why pay more when you can get employees to work part time without bennies?
