For those of you who would like to pay their respects to Kelley Mitchell there will be a public memorial service at 10 am on May 19th at The Miami Theater Center (formerly The PlayGround Theater) at 806 NE Second Ave. in Miami Shores.
And yes this is the theater founded by the daughter of WSVN owner Ed Ansin, Stephanie Ansin. Kelley’s husband Kirk Wade is the chief photojournalist at WSVN , so it’s nice of them to step up and offer this to the public.
Free parking will be available on 98th Street and along 2nd ave
Kelley’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Kelley Mitchell was a rare breed in South Florida.
An anchor who was also a real journalist.
All we have now are kids reading trite scripts from a TelePrompter while they take selfies during their breaks to post on Facebook.
Kelley was real…and will be missed.
I have not seen any official cause of death. Does anyone know?
