Craig Stevens WSVN 7 NewsCraig Stevens and five other local TV news vets were awarded the Silver Circle award for excellence last night. The award is awarded to distinguished individuals who have contributed a quarter of a century or more of exemplary excellence to the television industry. Stevens has 25 years in the news business, 20 of which he has spent with Sunbeam television, mostly at WSVN with a short stint at WHDH form 1997 to 1999.

Five other local TV news vets were awarded a Silver Circle as well

The event included a special appearance by the very young and fresh former WFOR reporter, and current ABC News reporter, Gio Benitez right from Dianne Sawyer’s seat

The awards were given out last evening during a formal reception at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel.
