Josh Samuels, WPEC weekend sports anchor is leaving the station. Samuels told TVSpy he’s leaving the station because he does not agree with the direction management is taking on sports coverage.
Sinclair-owned WPEC has been without a main sports anchor for several months after long-time sports director Pat Murphy retired, though I’m told they asked him to stay a little while longer.
WPBF have been without a sports department to speak of since 2002 and market leader WPTV are in a partnership with ESPN radio 760AM which they recently extended.
