WFOR have hired Rick Folbaum, currently anchoring FoxNews, to be one of the station’s weekday anchors. FTVlive caught Folbaum’s wife blogging about a move to South Florida, and even though she didn’t mention who hired her husband it was obvious where he’s headed.
WFOR won’t say which newscasts Rick Folbaum would anchor but all signs point to the main anchor chair on afternoons. SFLTV also heard a rumor that WFOR is bringing a TV wife for him from outside the station, to replace Shannon Hori. We should hear more about this fairly soon as November sweeps are fast approaching.
TV wife?
How bout harris faulkner from fox….
Just say’n… lol
Adding Harris Faulkner would put them too far to the right. Folbaum is a
refreshing intelligent new face that will draw new viewers just out of curiosity. If his new partner is as sharp as he is I think they have a winning combination.
How about WFOR hiring more people of color? I see variations on ALL the other channels and yet none on WFOR. Summer Knowles is on the weekend, but that’s just one. How many do they have as on the scene reporters? Years ago WFOR reflected the community, but now I don’t know.
Meh..just another face that will come and go in a few yrs. Mike Schneider, Steve Wolford, Rob Hanrahan, Antonio Mora, Kevin Corke, just to name a few.
Jerry, I totally agree with you. Too many whites and Hispanics being hired. Summer Knowles and Jim Berry are the only blacks on there. There news team is not reflecting the South Florida community only the Miami area.
Looks like Rick will be anchoring the 5 & 11 PM newscasts and Elliott has been demoted to the Noon & 6 PM newscasts. Changes take effect August 26th.
