On Election Night Viewers Preferred Just One Station

The Dems had a good night on November 6, but as this picture on Twitter by @dt007 a.k.a. WSVN executive agent producer Darcy Tannebaum shows WSVN had good election night results themselves, so staying live for 7 hours straight paid off.

The station finished first in the key viewer demos beating national networks ABC, CBS and NBC. WSVN led election night coverage with a 4.7 rating among adults 25-54, nearly double that of NBC/WTVJ and CBS/WFOR. They were particularly strong with women 25-54 scoring a 5.6 rating and 3.7 rating points for men 25-54. One rating point for Miami/Fort Lauderdale equals to 16,211 households.

  1. That’s surprising. I watched NBC, who I thought nationally did a great job, but the local coverage here was disappointing to say the least. I was getting upset every time they’d do local coverage, and then the fact that they threw to local right before the big announcement was made? Ugh, it was messy.
