WFOR reporter Jorge Estevez is leaving the station and going back to his old playground in Orlando, ABC affiliate WFTV, according to Orlando SentinelEstevez joined WFOR from WFTV in 2006 as a weekday morning anchor after Susan Barnett left for KYW in Philadelphia. Shortly after that his “office spouse” Cynthia Demos, who was also at WFTV, got hired away and the two ended up leading the weekday morning newscasts on CBS4. That lasted until June 2008, when WFOR management decided to make their sports director Jim Berry a morning news anchor and bumped Estevez away to a reporter.

Jorge Estevez will report for WFTV and also anchor the 6:30pm and 10pm newscasts at independent WRDQ which WFTV produces. His first day will be June 14.

  1. yessssssssssss love sexy Jorge I hope he is gonna be the main male anchor on WRDQ as in sitting at the desk ???? in Orlando all the time and love this finally I will have a reason when here to watch WFTV

  2. He’s leaving? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo…. We love Jorge Estevez in SoFLa, and do not want to see him go. WFOR should have kept him on the anchor desk. I wonder how his personal life is going to handle the long distance relationship. Good luck Jorge! This is one SoFLa fan that will miss you on our tube.
