WSVN Bosses Send Reid Lamberty to Boston

WSVN reporter Reid Lamberty will be an anchor after all, just not at WSVN. Lambery was just named main co-anchor at WHDH, the other station parent company Sunbeam Television has in Boston, MA. He is replacing long-time anchor Frances Rivera who left for WPIX in New York City.

Reid Lamberty joined WSVN in April of 2010 from FOX’ flagship station WNYW in New York City, before that he worked at WFXT in Boston, also a FOX affiliate.

When WSVN anchor Charles Billi left earlier in 2011 management kept Lamberty anchoring in his spot for weeks leading some to believe he would replace Billi. Later we learned Lamberty allegedly turned down WSVN’s offer because he wasn’t sure he would stay in South Florida and waited until the station found someone else.

Lamberty’s first day at WHDH is in just four days on September 12!

  1. Reid was no asset to WSVN. He was like watching paint dry when there was nothing else to do.

    Good luck in Boston
