The Florida Associated Press Broadcasters awarded WPBF two awards recently.
Investigative reporter Terri Parker won an award for her six-month investigation into a miniature bulldog breeding ring. The investigation caused the operators to shut their website and operation but in the followup Parker found that one of the bulldog owners left his house leaving a dog behind without food and water triggering an investigation and into animal cruelty.
Also, WPBF special projects producer Desiree Malky, assignment editor Mike Sokol and photojournalist Joel Waldmann bagged a finalist award for their ‘Bump in the night’ piece about a haunted house in West Palm Beach’s Yesteryear Village.
