Herald Borrowed Connable Lawsuit Story From SFLTV?

8

On Friday we found out the Miami Herald had a story that day about Joel Connable’s lawsuit, about which lawsuit we blogged on Tuesday after Alex had lengthy interview with him. Somehow though the Herald and its writer failed to mention where the details for the article came from.

The second paragraph in the Herald article begins with “In an interview, Connable said…” an interview with who? Not clear to Miami Herald readers but that would be us. Incidently the image they used in the story is the same image in our blog post.

It’s okay though we understand. The Miami Herald is a dieing newspaper and like any newspaper they are having financial issues, they are firing people, downsizing, they need to save money.

We are thinking … that probably, part of their cost cutting includes having to save on ink and keyboard replacements! The cuts have forced wear and tear limits on the keyboards so writers can press the letters only a limited amount of times per day and in that story said writer ran over for allowance forthe letters “S, F, L, T and V”? Totally understand.

With all that said we are extremely flattered that a big, formerly multi-billion dollar organization is trying to survive and save money by borrowing stories from little ‘ol us.

Thanks Herald you made us we feel special like we have never felt before.

Looking forward to being buddies and sharing the internets tubes when you get turned into a blog!

  1. I understand where you’re coming from and have all the right to be upset about not getting credit, But the shots were unnecessary. There are some good people at that paper losing their jobs left and right and to basically dance on a grave is pretty low

  2. Maybe the Herald had an interview with him too? Surely Alex/SFLTV is not the only “journalist” who has exclusive rights to Joel.

  3. Interesting. While I know SFLTV would never do this, make up a nice juicy story, and then hopefully the Herald will copy it and then lose all their credibility.
