Former WTVJer Heading Al Roker’s Weather Channel Show

Former WTVJ executive producer Mike Jenkins who was at NBC6 for 15 years will be the senior producer for Al Roker’s new show ‘Wake Up With Al’ on The Weather Channel. Nick Palladino who comes from the Today Show will be the producer.

Jenkins, who joined WTVJ in 1995, was the executive sports producer from 1995 until 2006 and executive producer from 1998 until he left NBC6 in May 2009 to join The Weather Channel. He managed the weather department at WTVJ, developed and produced weather specials and managed hurricane season coverage and produced weather documentaries.

Mike Jenkins was also the managing editor for ‘NBC Local Media Division’ for the 2006 Olympic games in Torino and 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing where he produced ‘The Olympic Zone’ a half-hour special for NBC-owned stations that aired every night.

‘Wake Up With Al’ debuts July 20 and will air from 6am to 7am on The Weather Channel
