Geneen Anderson joins WPLG as weather producer and weekend mornings weather anchor. She comes from WNCN-NBC17 in Raleigh, NC.
Before WNCN Geneen was the morning weather anchor for WABC in New York City and she’s also worked at the Weather Channel. Anderson is also in the process of getting her meteorology degree.
Ok, does anyone know what this means for Jacey Birch ? Is she now a full time anchor or is she leaving WPLG also. Thanks !
It looks like she’s a full-time anchor. Jacey’s bio used to be under the “weather” section on local10.com, but it’s now under the “news” section. Geneen’s bio has already been added to the “weather” section.
No offense to the new weather person, but now this means I will sleep in late both Saturday and Sunday.
She looks very pretty. I will definitely stay up and watch.

It looks like Jacey is staying on weekday mornings as the traffic reporter. Kristi isn’t going anywhere. Neither is Calvin.
Isn’t that a demotion? I mean going from weather to traffic. I love Jacey on the weather on the weekends.
She is going to traffic? If that is so it’s a demotion, either that or she doesn’t care and doesn’t want to work on an unwatched morning weekend show. Usually the news babes get their toe hold with a traffic gig after winning a few bathing suit contests or beauty contests. Then they “work” their way up the flag pole so to speak.
How much could a traffic job pay anyway? Can’t be much.
For Jacey to do the traffic report is a real step down. I think she does a fine job with the weather and as an anchor on the weekdays. I think Calvin is ok but seems stiff most of the time.
She gets around 40 thousand.
Hey shouldn’t you have your meteorology degree before you get the job? Wouldn’t be nice if you could get a job in business by telling the employer you are working on your MBA?

I think she is great on the weather and really like her presence on camera.
$40,000 is very low and I would have thought she made much more than that. I agree, she has a great professional presence on camera despite the lack of certification. I have a feeling she will leave to either NY or LA.
Well, if Jacey is the full-time traffic reporter, Johanna Gomez is the “odd babe out” (unless she’s going to be doing more reporting now)
It appears (so far anyway) that Geneen is doing weekend evening weather. Jacey still doing weekend mornings, and then traffic a couple days a week (to make her full time?) Joanna Gomez seems to have disappeared. If it stays that way, I guess that means John Guaraldi goes back to behind the scenes, and fill-in…
