According to a regular reader, WSVN aired their first ever 16:9, 720p promo around 2pm today before Superbowl pre-game. And during the show as well about once an hour.
I saw the short ID they ran at 6pm and it said “Taking news coverage to a whole new level”. Whatever this may imply!

update: it is all in 16:9 indeed. and of course very over the top. there’s a space-like explosion, mimicking a star explosion I guess, that forms the 7 logo and then and a space station-like structure.

Well they know some of us are not dumb enough to notice their HD gfx, that’s why i guess they do not mention when real 16:9 will be available.

i hope that someone will get a clip of the promo so that we can all see it! I’m from MA so I love to see what the 7 in Florida is doing compared to the one up here! I also love 7 news in flordia’s promos…
WSVN have the best promos in Local news period! Just like CNN has the best promos,graphics and technology in Cable News
