  1. maggie was on the paul and young ron show on big 105.9 this week talking about her trip – shes really down to earth aan excited about anchoring the show. she did a great job

  2. Saw her this morning – she was great! She looked and sounded a lot better on the national show than she does on CBS4, too. I’ve got to wonder, however, why she lacks the enthusiasm on the 11pm newscast that she had this morning. Could there be more than meets the eye to this?

  3. she said on big 1059 that shes completley happy in miami and wouldnt consider going to the network unless it was a really BIG deal. she also said that the only reason shes doing it was b/c she was asked by a friend

  4. You don’t get asked to do network shows because “a friend asked you to”. Local news talents are often given a shot at network fill in work so they can see if they work in front of a national audience. It’s a grooming process. It is never as casual as a friend asking you to do it. It doesn’t mean a network offer is around the corner, but it certainly means that someone at the national level is looking at you.

  5. i dont disagree with either of you – i merley stated what Maggie herself said. Her friend was someone higher up at the network who she met with when he was vacationing down in Miami. He asked her if he’d be itnerested in filling in ever, she said yes. But according to her, she would have to be offered a really big position to leave WFOR.

  6. David is clueless. I heard the same exact interview on Paul & Young Ron and that is not what she said. In fact she said that Sean McManus, The President of CBS News, was down here for the Super Bowl and HE is good friends with management at WFOR. It was not a friend of HERS, it was a good friend of MANAGEMENT, who also happens to be the Presidents of CBS News. Not a friend down here on vacation. There’s a big difference. McManus saw her work and liked it. End of story.

  7. I agree she did great, but the wardrobe choice was terrible… she looked like a floating head on top of a black hole on the two shots…especially compared to Tracy Smith’s (that her name???) bright blue blazer..

I don’t know what she thought, but all black doesn’t work well for TV, she should have known that…

  8. Mr. Jones – i had suspected what you said to be true (about it not being a friend of Maggies) – i dont believe im cluelesss – i believe that was a little harsh. But my next question to you Mr. Jones – is when Paul and Ron asked her if this meant she is going to the network, what did she say??? I believe she said that it would have to be such a big deal “like her taking over for Katie Couric” if she were to consider it. My point wasnt who was friends with who, my point is that she claims to have no interest in going to work for the network unless it was a “big time deal.” Mr. McManus is smart for liking her work, and Im sure he did some vacationing while he was down for the superbowl, even network executives can enjoy the Miami weather in the middle of the winter regardless of whether or not he is here working.

  9. If you really believe the only way she would be interested in going to network was if she was taking over for Katie Couric…then you might be interested in buying some nice oceanfront property I’d like to sell you in Arizona. Just kidding
