WFOR Has Balls

7

I took a stroll around CBS4’s website and noticed they keep on pumping out stories about Miami police department mishaps.

Not long ago WFOR caused the Miami police chief to give up his nice Lexus SUV gift repeatedly hammering on as his PR offered different versions of why a police chief is driving a 50k SUV every time 4 came back with a question.

Now they’ve uncovered that same police department is cooking up the books on crime statistics reporting shot people as disturbances.

Nice to know at least one station in town isn’t afraid to step on the balls of their police sources.

  1. Admin,
Before you start handing out Emmys, all this info they are getting is being fed to them from a source that has an axe to grind. Second, isn’t this the same station that broke into programming and announced as “breaking news” that a police dept. higher up’s son was arrested for drug dealing when he wasn’t?

  2. axe to grind or no
my point is they aren’t bending over after the Mike Kirsch sting but pressing on and airing the stories

  3. Actually, that’s all the station can report on these days. Cops!

Throw in a jail story here and there… but let’s get real, viewers want something else.

The station has gone down hill in the past year, the ratings are
shrinking, and I hear morale is at an all time low.

You can thank upper management for what the station has become.

  4. Hey Dr. Fever,
The radio station is doing well.
Lonnie Anderson dropped by yesterday, and had fun remembering the good ol’ days.

    How are you?

  5. What CBS 4 has is sloppy reporting! They pursue stories based on anonymous tips (which are usually people with axes to grind), don’t seek appropriate sources, and go live even if they haven’t gotten a complete (or factually correct, or very informative) piece. In their quest to be first with a story, they repeatedly air pieces that are full of inaccuracies. And they never, ever air corrections.

  6. The last comment is not exactly true.
Ever since the Bobby Parker story meltdown, the station has paid strict attention to checking and re-checking sources.
You can’t make a blanket statement like that. That in itself is not accurate, and you should know better.
I agree the reporting there is bland, with a few exceptions.
They are struggling, and lost their magic they once had.
I am dissapointed in the product I see today.
Once they get new upper management you will see inprovement, until then, their ratings will continue to be in basement.
