He doesn’t like the local news

2

CNN’s Miles O’Brien hosted a live RTNDA opening session and had his 14 year old son join in via web cam. During live Q&A the boy was asked if he watched local news his reply? He doesn’t like local news – “all they talk about is murders and rapes and killings.”

O’Brien’s daughter also made an appearance via webcam and she too was asked if she watched local news.  “No,” she said. “It scares me.”

In 5 years when these two, along with their peers, become the target demo we’ll be seeing news heads wondering again where have all the demo viewers gone.

  1. Gee, didn’t Miles just get demoted by the same guys who elevated ol’ Rick Sanchez to weekend anchor status? How can a unit like CNN, hiring good guys like J.D. (oops, John) Roberts, get it so wrong by hiring the swarthy one from SVN? I thank Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann for repeatedly running the video of Rick being tasered. I am making a continuous loop of it, LMFAO. Hopefully CNN won’t let Rick drive himself anywhere.

  2. Of course local news will talk about murders and rapes. National news talks about it too. There is way too much national news. Plus local news isn’t really local news. Half of the local news has national and world news. I think local TV stations should be taxed for putting national and world news on their newscasts unless there is a major national or world news story like 911 or the Virgina Tech Shootings.
