Beatriz Canals leaving WFOR

What is wrong with this station? All of the good people they lose. Even if you did not like Angela Rae she was good. They couldn’t keep Maggie but that was something that was better for her. Is Joy still planning on going back to Jacksonville? Where ever you go I wish you well Bea. You were a ray of sunshine in this market. I hope you stay in this market but do what is best for you.

WOW! WFOR should change it’s station music to “Another One Bites The Dust”.

I cannot believe they are also losing Beatriz. She was a breath of fresh air for that station. As a matter of fact, she was the only remaining reason of why I would periodically watch their news. Now I have one more (and last) reason not to tune into their so-called newscast.

The decision makers have destroyed this station. It seems as if they are going backwards to their WCIX days when hardly anyone watched them. Maybe they should rehire Barbara Sloan and Kambrell Marshall.

I hope Beatriz stays in our market. She is one of the nices news talents in South Florida. I had the pleasure of meeting her in South Beach when she was covering the Versace murder and I must say I had a great conversation with her.

I wish Beatriz well. We will miss you. Hopefully WTVJ or WPLG will add you to their teams.

Beatriz Canals is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet in this cut throat business. Not only is she beautiful, but she is also a genuinely nice and considerate person. She worked very hard at SVN and FOR. This is a BIG loss for WFOR. Beatriz, “the sky’s the limit” for you. I hope you stay in the Miami market. Best Wishes.

I have no other reasons to watch WFOR anymore. I hope she stays here as well…hard to find anyone as beautiful and sweet as her.

I remember saying that it will only be a matter of time before new would come that she would be leaving. I told you so. Come on, they passed on her for the main anchor job, though for some reason I prefer Hori over her.

The next question is where will she end up? I dont think WPLG has space for her. The only move would be to reduce Kristie Krueger to reporter status to make room for Canal. Jennings and Lauderdale are fixtures in the late news.

WTVJ seem to think Nespral is worth a lot of money and for some reason they insist on holding on to her. Dont look for them to go for Canals. Where would that put Yarbough?

Highly unlike she would return to WSVN either. And if she does, what would she do there. I dont think Nerey is going anywhere anytime should. Especially ssince no other market would want her.

To keep this on topic, WFOR screwed up big time in not giving Beatriz a good slot. I wish her nothing but the best, because she’s a damn good talent.

If Beatrice was really concerned about spending more time with her child, I am sure they would not have had a problem fitting her in the Purdy’s real spot, noon and 6pm news.

She is just bitter, and rightfully so, about the fact she got overlooked. Again, Belkys is not an anchor, she is a cheerleader.

Belkys is a delight to watch there is never a DULL moment with her on board unlike SO MANY other Female anchors who just READ the news . I mean Belkys always try’s to make u laugh and always has CHemistry with whoever they put her with . Wether she is giving it to Steve Shapiro or , trying to make Craig Stevens Lighten up at times she is not your Regular Dull cup of tea . Bottom line she IS the Female anchor to watch and I will watch her call paint DRY .

Belkys needs to go back to Deco Drive. —Not main anchor material in my opinion—. 7 should give the main anchor spot to Lynn Martinez and try and persuade Beatriz Canals to come back. I also wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Reed Cowan eventually takes over for Craig at SVN.

Laurie Jennings was the shot in the arm PLG needed. Since she has been at PLG,ratings have skyrocketed. She is one of the best locally.

Shannon is doing great and fitting in well at FOR. Now if they would just get rid of Elliot! (boring)!!

Lastly, when is TVJ going to realize that Jackie and Tony should be replaced with Joel Connable and Julia Yarbough??? Jackie is downright annoying with that voice of hers! Can’t stand watching her..
