At least thtat’s what they promo says ๐
The latest one features street interviews, with alleged viewers saying things like “More details, more pictures, more explanations”, . Probably fake considering every viewer uses buzz words, in a row like “More details, more pictures, more explanations”. One woman on a sidewalk saying “I can tune in any time and find out everything that’s going on locally, weather-wise, traffic-wise”.
WPLG too are using allegedly real viewers in their latest promos, who’ve emailed the station, that are reading out their emails.
I remember when I first landed in South Florida back in ’99 7 had viewer-on-the-street promos too.

Isn’t it nice how some things don’t change?
anyway way we could see videos?
the viewer line i find most suspicious is, “i enjoy the team coverage.” what real person on the street who’s not in the news business would EVER say that???
Can you post?
Actually I have heard viewers say things like that, if you sell Team Coverage well enough, which 4 does, it sticks in peoples brains, especially with all the recent big stories. Also, they could be real viewers, who had something to share, who were coached to make it sound good for TV.
I know we’re talking about 4, but I love 7’s promos. Even the most unabashadly tabloid promos rock if Scott Chapin voices ’em.
That’s a bunch of b.s. I don’t care how many times you promote “Team Coverage”, the regular everyday person on the street would never say that. Just like the everyday viewer doesn’t care about who breaks the story first. Or if you go on the air a minute before the other stations. Only people in the business care about that.
Your wrong bjohnson. Im guessing channel 4 went out and asked everyday people that said they watched ch.4, what they like about it. The avg. person that watches the news, knows what the media does in their promos, even if they dont analyze it like we do. After hearing team coverage so often, your going to associate that term with the channel. All the channels use “team coverage”, so anyone who has ever watched local news are familiar with the term, and when asked what they like about then news nchannel, theyre going to think of the easiest thing that comes to your mind. If you watch CBS 4 morning news, you see them have team coverage of weather and traffic everyday. So the point is – the avg. person dosent care, but they are familiar with the on air lingo.
Hey everyone,
I actually was interviewed by a street team for CBS4 a few weeks ago. It was very amature–nothing too crazy. They were standing on the corner where I worked (in Coral Gables) and they just happened to ask me if I watched CBS4 and would like talk about my experience watching them. Very amused with the situation, I told them “yes” (eventhough the answer was/is “no”) and I gave them glorified responses to all their questions. I knew what type of responses they were looking for, so I gave them what they wanted. Anyway, if you happen to see some greek looking male wearing all black during one of their promos, it was me.
I’m sure they asked the people questions about the station and if the person said “I really love their anchors and reporters”, I’m sure they told them to just say they love the team coverage
