  1. Congratulations to Kelly, one of the greats we’ve ever had locally. I will always owe her, Tony Segreto and Brian Norcross for the Hurricane Andrew coverage from the old Miami Avenue studio. They were tremendous, and while Brian got most of the ink, Kelly was no less valuable talking us through the ordeal. It is worth getting up early on Saturdays and Sundays to catch Kelly on the weekend news. No matter who they pair her with, be it Ryan Phillips, John Gerard, anyone, they are always eminently watchable. Putting her with Trina Robinson is dangerous though. They both seem to release the naughtiness in each other, and I feel for the director who probably has to keep a finger on the trigger in case someone goes too far. This is what I mean when I say newspeople have to be intelligent and the kind of person you would want in your home. Kelly, you are welcome in my home anytime.

  2. Hear hear! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Kelly is a true pro. She makes anyone better. She should anchor “Tonight”.

  3. I agree with both of you. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Kelly Craig in the NBC6 studio about four months ago. A good friend used to work at the set on weekend mornings, when Kelly anchors, and she invited me to watch the newcast from their prespective. What a difference. I have pictures of this day posted on my MySpace page (CharlieCruiser). The pictures truly reflect the “real” Kelly. She’s a charm!

Kelly is truly one of the best anchors we have in South Florida. Too bad she is only a couple of times each week. She should still be the main anchor at NBC6.

P.S. Are you not amazed that I am not posting a message concerning my fave Joel???

  4. “P.S. Are you not amazed that I am not posting a message concerning my fave Joel???”

you couldn’t resist could you?;) at least you didn’t call for the “Kelly and Joel Power Hour”

  5. Mr. Furley that would not be a bad idea. At least NBC6 would have an hour of news that people actually would watch an increase their ratings. They should consider it, instead of Jackie and Julia at 5 pm.

    What do you think?

  6. I must admit that Joel has grown on me; He did a good job with Lonnie on the 10am show. Someone has failed to realize that people will watch people they actually like. I dont really need to know the news at 10am , but i enjoy the interaction between Lonnie and Bob and even Trina( did I just admit that?)

  7. Furley, your admission makes up for the bad news I got from my cardiologist (yes, I have a heart–for now). I admit even Lonnie doesn’t make me cringe. While we’re at it, this week 6 had a fill-in crew of Patricia Andreu, Ari Odzer and Ryan Phillips. They were terrific! 6 has a bench, they need a manager who knows how to fill in the lineup card!

  8. I need to go off topic here, because there is no recent entry on ch. 7. I do not know if you guys have noticed, but when on shows aside from the news, like In the Heat of the Night, or Gerlado at Large, there is a little 7 on the lower Right hand side, sort of like the NBC Logo on the Soap Operas. Thats sort of new. Just bringing it to your attention… 😉

  9. Is there a double standard here? Angela is silly.
I think alot of the remarks and things Kelly does
    are silly also.
