Confirmed: Roland Steadham leaves NBC6

Surprise Surprise…The bible thumper Roland moves to Utah..I say good riddance! he is nothing but a homophobe!..I worked with this guy at WSVN..we were glad to see him go then!!!

To each his own, I think Roland was great at nbc6 and definitely better than that other guy who replaced him at wsvn….

I assume you are referring to Bill Kamal. Granted he is a freak to want to screw kids, but the kid was what? 15? kid knew what he was doing, in any case, I would still watch Kamal. He was the best met there was and I would trust him as being the best met around.

Bryan Norcross is the best this town has to offer..Bill Kamal is right where he belongs…in prison!!!

Kamal was good but he made a stupid mistake. I don’t care if the kid (undercover cop) was 15, 8, or 18. You don’t try to solicit sex from underage minors. It is dirty and immoral. He should have known better because he had a lot to lose. Now, Mr. Kamal will spend his time in jail where they love pedophiles.

If a kid is 15 he knows damn well what he is doing. He knew that he wanted to get plowed by an older guy.

regardless of whether Kamal was good or bad at his job the fact is he is done in TV news.. His story made nationwide news. there is not a station GM or news director that will touch him with a 10 foot poll in 5 yrs after he gets out of prison..The guy was on a downward spiral for years..his own stupidity finally caught up with him..funny how quicky Mike forgets it was Bryan Norcross, then at WTVJ, Channel 4 who led us all night through Hurricane Andrew. Bryan is the best this town has to offer…period!

I think John GERRARD should get the spot he did an excallent job….if u all remeber he used to be on WPLG on Daybreak when it was Doug Dunnbar (RIP in Texas) and Liv Davlous (now of WFOR) he was a little goofey though he has seemed to tone it down alot now that he is on TVJ

John Guraldi (sp) should be the logical choice here…..He has earned it as the stations #2 guy. If SVN doesn’t bump Tom Johnston to chief he probably should apply also. Dave Damina, now teaching school, would love a fulll time slot. He is a meterologist…..simething a lot of stations don’t consider when hiring their new talent.

I agree..David Damian was the chief met at WTVJ-6 before Roland Steadham..I think John Guaraldi will get it..I also think it would be great to get Chris Paulsen back..formally of CBS 4..though last I heard he moved to SC because his partner..Michael Smith, formally of CBS 4 moved there to take a job with Fox Carolina..Tom Johnston so deserves chief met at SVN..they really should give it to him!!

NBC is searching for a new tvj chief weatherguy across the country. They are NOT considering anyone who works there. At least not at this point. sorry al you john and john fans

Why don’t they get Gina Cansilary from PLG back on the TV weather scene? She did a great job, and it’s about time a female is put in the main spot.

I was a finalist on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? phone game who was disqualified on a weather-type question. I e-mailed WTVJ and the other networks’ weather departments to help me answer this meteorological question because I was allowed to re-enter the contest and they were “recycling” questions in the subsequent contests…. Roland was the only one to answer me. He gave an extremely thorough and thoughtful answer and I really appreciated the time he gave me. As far as I am concerned, he is a GREAT guy!

Why rip Roland, he was a good met, better to be religious than to be looking for minors for sex. By the way, Kamal never talked to a 15 yr old boy, it was an undercover grown man, posing as a minor. As a public figure, you really need to think of your actions before being that stupid. Kamal may have been a good met too, but at the end of the road, where is Roland, and where is Kamal. What would you pick?

Roland, Kamal and Damian are all excellent Meteorolgists. NBC6 has their head stuck so far up their ass they let Damian go a long time ago. The new kid on the block is Trent Aric who compliments Noe and will eventually take over the helm. Kamal was by far the best at explaining and forecasting with Norcross and Roland a close 2nd. The bigger issue is getting rid of Tony Segretto who was a good sportscaster and a dud at an Anchor. Michael Williams should be up front. OK this was about Roland – so best of luck.

I think its funny…i grew up in pembroke pines and remember seeing Roland on TV….I join the service (Hill AFB, Utah) and see him on a local channel here….I would have stayed in sunny Florida!

My 2 cents is going to be added. Trina robinson is really a great met & show host on sfl today. If they were considering someone inside she’d be the one. The other guys @ TVJ should stay where they are. Here’s hoping.

I have known Roland for a long time, he tells things as he sees it, doesn’t mince words. I met him at KGTV he has ethics and stands up for what is right. He is a stand up guy. I am very disheartened to hear of the disdain some of you have. Doesn’t being in weather mean that you have to work together as a team?
