Good news for the fans of ABC News Now, the channel is coming back to a TV near you. Granted, it will only be in a few markets with Owned & Operated stations by ABC themselves. And that doesn’t include WPLG or WPBF. WPLG is owned by Post Newsweek and WPBF by Hearst-Argyle. ABC is working on deals with other ABC affiliates to carry the channel but there’s a problem, most of them want to have more play in ABC News Now and cable & satellite operators are reluctant to pay for it as well.
Then there’s also Video On Demand (VOD) which will feature World News with Peter Jennings and Nightline, plus original programing from ABC News Now.
All in all, the press release states that there will be 50+ hours a month of programming a month.
