Bye, Jackie! Popular weather anchor leaving S. Florida

Bye, Jackie!

Sorry, guys — popular weather anchor Jackie Johnson is leaving WSVN Channel 7 and the South Florida market for a new life on the West Coast.

Johnson will join KCAL-TV 9/KCBS 2, a duopoly in Los Angeles.

Johnson, a native of Michigan, joined WSVN in 2001 from WCTV in Tallahassee and quickly became a well-known personality in South Florida and an obsession of WQAM sports talk show host Joe Rose. Her forecasts are broadcast during Today in Florida, WSVN’s morning news show and Channel 7 News at Noon.

Johnson will become KCAL/KCBS weather anchor and entertainment reporter. She will remain in South Florida and at WSVN until August.

You always helped my morning start off a lot better when I lived in Miami. Now that I live in Los Angeles, I missed having that smooth start to the day. I am glad to see that you are going to be a part of KCAL. Keep up the good work.
    Sincerely,
