Rummor, at least for now, she was told NBC6 doesn’t want her anymore and will not be renewing her contract. If true, her last day at NBC6 is Dec 3rd
Update: thanks to an observant reader here’s a link to the article in The Miami Herald from this past Saturday, mentioning Valoppi leaving NBC6 – Signing Off (reg needed use bugmenot.com if you dont have a pass)
SIGNING OFF
WTVJ-NBC 6’s Jennifer Valoppi, a South Florida anchor since ’94, will leave the station in December. Contract not renewed.
”Time to move on,” says Valoppi, 45. “No hard feelings.”
Valoppi is founder/prez of the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program, which works with at-risk girls in public high schools in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. She hopes to take it national.
Valoppi’s husband, Christian de Berdouare, 48, owns Chicken Kitchen, with 35 locations from Pinecrest to Florence, S.C., and 50 planned for Georgia, Texas, California and Arizona. They have two boys, 5 and 7.
Valoppi says her broadcast career is not over.
“There’s no question I’m going to continue to do television. There are discussions going on at the local and national level.”
She made the mistake of getting old. Too bad, I liked her when she was on. Wouldn’t mind seeing her on CNN instead of that damn rick sanchez
Could you please tell me if Jennifer Valoppi is still with NBC 6
as I am huge fan of hers here in New Jersey.
Thank-you
I tried looking for the Miami herald article but it says “article not available”. Any other places the story might have been reported on?
